Intermediate courses focus on the design and structure of loom controlled, hand manipulated and sculptural techniques in weaving; sculptural basketry forms; dyeing, painting and printing as applied to woven fibers and basketry. Focus is on acquiring technical skill, exploration of materials, ideas, and development of a personal voice. Historical and social content supplement the studio work in fiber. Advanced level students concentrate on charting a personal direction, developing a portfolio of work, research on the application of their media focus in contemporary society, plus internships.
