Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to: Demonstrate knowledge of the network of agencies and institutions that provide human and social services to individuals, families, and communities, and also their structure, policies, and procedures; Demonstrate knowledge of the scope, importance, and components of ethical and professional standards of the human services professions and service providers; Demonstrate familiarity with the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professional practice in human services occupations; Demonstrate knowledge of the theoretical approaches that inform human services practice in social work, gerontology, addictions counselling, mental health, and treatment; and Demonstrate familiarity with the skills involved in engaging clients in a helping relationship and facilitating positive behavioural changes; Demonstrate knowledge of clinical application including case conceptualization, hypothesis building, and therapeutic techniques, applicable within a diverse cultural environment.
