You will have to go to college to acquire knowledge and learn skills to teach technology education . As a Technology teacher, you teach students to understand, use and control technology . You lead them as they explore the development of technology and its effect on people, the environment and society. The FSU Technology Education Program is nationally recognized as one of the best undergraduate programs in the country. There is an extremely high demand for our graduates, especially in eastern states such as West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Our small classes are a contributing factor to our 100% passing rate on the National Teacher's Exam. EMPLOYMENT IN TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION In the field of Technology Education there are only 600 graduates in the nation for 2400 or more teaching positions each year which means that there at least 4 jobs for every technology education graduate nationally. Most teachers work nine months a year and spend about six hours a day teaching technology education . Teaching requires preparation before class. It also requires working directly with students to solve problems, plan projects, select materials, produce projects, use tools and equipment in a safe manner, and properly organize and maintain a technology education laboratory.
