Educational outcomes are accomplished through participation in sequential and concurrent growth experiences. General education courses form the foundation and broaden the scope of the nursing education program. The nursing education process prepares the learner to assume increasing responsibility and self-direction for continued personal and professional growth. Nursing is a profession that provides services that are essential to or helpful in the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health and well being. The methodology of professional nursing is the nursing process: assessment, analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The nursing program promotes the attainment of nursing knowledge and skills, and instills the relevance of ethics/values in evidence-based practice. Clinical judgment and critical thinking skills are fostered and refined. The faculty serves as mentors and role models in the nursing education process.
