Students may opt to exit the program after completing all Practical Nursing diploma requirements. A limited number of students who currently hold LPN credentials and are working may be accepted to the Mobility Nursing portion of the program. The number of students accepted into the Nursing program is limited. A competitive application process is used in late-winter/early spring each year to determine who is accepted into the program. Information on the application process is available from the Nursing program director, advisors/counselors, and in the Admissions Office. Students may begin working to complete pre-requisite courses at any time. Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aid Option Completing the Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aid Program is the fastest way to enter a career in nursing . As a short-term option, completing the NA/HHA certificate program may immediately lead to a professional position because the current job market indicates a high demand and shortage of trained Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aids. This four-credit certificate program can be completed in approximately six weeks. All classes are held in Cloquet. This certificate program is typically offered as a special session within a traditional semester, and includes a cultural diversity component.
