At Franklin College you can further develop your music skills, pursue diverse interests in other studies, and contribute to the vibrant cultural climate of our campus! Franklin music students are advantaged by the depth and breadth of performance options that exist for all students?not just upperclassmen. Freshmen have opportunities to excel as soloists, accompanists, section leaders, and ensemble officers. Sophomores and juniors frequently work as mentors for music appreciation and music skills classes while also working as interns with professional organizations in Indianapolis and Columbus. Music students at Franklin are also employed as church accompanists, section leaders, and children's music directors. Senior music majors may prepare recitals or practicums in studio teaching or conducting. Outstanding graduating music majors also have the opportunity to conduct the Franklin College Children's Choir for a semester. Music studies may be complimented by wonderful travel experiences. Winter term trips abroad which focus on the arts are available for January travel and a semester of study at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria can be arranged through the international studies program on campus.
