Objectives A graduate of this program will: 1. Be able to design and solve problems in algebra. 2. Be able to design and solve problems in calculus. 3. Be able to design and solve problems in geometry. 4. Be able to design and solve problems in probability and statistics. 5. Be able to write and solve non-routine and open-ended problems. 6. Recognize connections of mathematics to the real world and use them in teaching. 7. Use mathematical reasoning and, where appropriate, proof to support and justify answers. 8.
