Spanish from Gonzaga University is a Campus Bachelor Language degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Welcome to the Spanish Program. In addition to our language , conversation, and survey classes in Spanish and Spanish -American literature , we provide a breadth of classes for Spanish majors and minors. We have courses on Latin American women writers, Hispanic film, contemporary Hispanic issues, and a service-learning course on the Hispanic community in the U.S. Many of our courses can be taken in conjunction with the new Latin American Studies major. Our Gonzaga Study Abroad programs are located in Granada, Spain and Cuernavaca, Mexico. Our students have studied in Ecuador, Chile, and Costa Rica through programs with other American universities. Our graduates have been volunteers in the Peace Corps and other international assistance programs; many have become teachers, others have chosen to continue to graduate level studies in Spanish , International Studies, or Latin American Studies. More than one-tenth of the U.S. population speaks Spanish , and trade with Latin America continues to expand.
