American Sign Language from Goshen College is a Campus Bachelor Sign Language degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Study abroad Since many students return from SST (Study-Service Term) inspired to continue studying and practicing their respective languages , they also participate in exciting programs abroad through Brethren Colleges Abroad (BCA). Native speakers of French, German and Spanish, often on exchange through BCA, regularly assist in the departmental courses. Courses include not only language at all levels, but also interdisciplinary courses in translation such as Creative Mythology, Literature and Music in 19th Century Germany, and Francophone Literature. Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a popular major and minor. Our program is one of only 30 in the United States. GC modern language graduates are found in education, library sciences, international business, marketing and sales, hotel/restaurant management, mission work, medical professions, law, human relations and the arts. Outcomes MCLL graduates (majors, double majors and minors) go on to successful careers in fields such: teaching (middle school, high school and college levels), library sciences, marketing and sales, administration (in fields like education or hotel/restaurant management), mission work, medical professions, law, human resources, public relations, financial services, and music.
