College-level prerequisites in English/Communication, Biology/Biological Sciences, and Physics, as well as high school Algebra, are required. These are in addition to the program of study and must be successfully completed before acceptance into the program. These courses are available at Great Lakes. Your initial classroom and clinic training will include ultrasound physics and instrumentation, anatomy & physiology, sectional anatomy, ultrasound imaging, ultrasound case studies, patient interaction, and obstetric & reproductive ultrasound .
