Health Assistant from Greene County Career and Technology Center is a Campus Certificate Health Aide degree that prepares you for a Healthcare career. The overall goal of the Health Assistant Program is to prepare graduates to render care to the chronically physically and/or mentally ill adult. Approximately 70% of Level I is theory and 30% is application. Level I students must achieve an 85% or better on all written tests and competencies. During the second year about 50% of the program is theory. Level II students must achieve a 90% or better on all written tests and competencies. During the 2nd semester of the second year, students go to a long-term care facility for 24 days of clinical experience. The third year of the program is 60% theory and 40% application. Level III students must achieve a 95% or better on all written tests and competencies. During the second semester of the third year, students go to local medical facilities for 4 weeks of clinical experience.
