Upon successful completion, students are prepared to: Plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum and learning environments for individual and groups of children based on knowledge of child development and its multiple influences to ensure that they promote health, safety, positive development, and learning for all children. Assess children's progress using formal and informal observation and assessment tools and methods. Communicate effectively and appropriately with children and adults from all backgrounds to build respectful, reciprocal relationships; use appropriate guidance practices with children. Participate actively in planning and decision-making concerning the educational, physical, fiscal, and human resources in classrooms and programs for children. Base decisions and actions on ethical and other professional standards. Demonstrate collaboration, critical thinking, and reflection.
