This rigorous curriculum teaches routing and switching concepts, network communications theory, and router and switch configuration. After completing the sequence of Cisco courses, you will have learned the topics needed to take the Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification test. The Cisco Networking Academy is highly regarded for its hands-on exposure to Cisco routers and networking devices. Other courses include Advanced Routing, Network Applications, Server Management with Windows Server, PC Hardware and Architecture, Advanced Web Page Design, and Network Security. In these courses, you are exposed to network Operating Systems (NOS) concepts, transmission media, and current technologies such as wireless networks, IP version 6, Virtual Private Networks, Proxy Servers, Directory Services, and VolP (Voice over IP). Due to the sequencing of the courses in the curriculum, if you wish to complete the degree in six consecutive quarters (excluding summer), you must begin fall quarter. However, you may enter the program at the start of any quarter with the understanding that completion of the degree will take longer than two years. It is possible to get two degrees , Computer Programming and Network Systems, in three years at Hocking College .
