Description: The University offers a bachelor of science (B.S.) in aviation management . This degree program prepares students for careers in air traffic control, airport or airline operations , or supervision in the aviation industry. The program includes a core of basic aviation courses?plus course work in aviation management. In addition, students complete a concentration in one of the following areas: Airport management Aviation studies Flight training is not required. However, to gain a better understanding of the aviation industry, students are encouraged to obtain at least a Private Pilot Certificate with instrument rating. Careers: Our graduates obtain professional positions in areas such as air traffic control, airport and airline operations, and supervision in the aviation industry. Employment is generally found at airports and commuter airlines in companies having flight departments, the federal government, the military services, flight simulator companies, aircraft manufacturers, state departments of aviation , and airport fixed base operators.
