INTRODUCTION Graduate study in the Department of Recreation and Sport Management is designed to strengthen the basic principles and understandings in the recreation and sport management disciplines. The program meets the guidelines for graduate degrees in sport management established by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education and the North American Association for Sport Management. FACILITIES The Department of Recreation and Sport Management is located in the Health and Human Services Building. The department manages the ISU Field Campus. The University library holdings in recreation and sport management are excellent and include subscriptions to many recreation and sport management journals and periodicals. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies for admission, applicants are expected to have completed an undergraduate major in recreation, sport , physical education, business, or related field. Applicants with deficiencies may be granted conditional admission. Students failing to meet grade point average requirements will be required to take the Graduate Record Examination and attain a combined score of 800 in the verbal and quantitative sections. Students without a sport management major will be required to take Recreation and Sport Management 510 as a prerequisite. Prospective students should submit official transcripts and three letters of recommendation. Students must meet admission standards as established by the College of Graduate and Professional Studies for full or conditional admission.
