The CMCL curriculum includes courses that provide: insights into American and global cultures through observing, participating within, interviewing, and otherwise learning about the actions, poetic expressions, and events that define them; lessons in how and why it is more important than ever to analyze, interpret, and challenge injustices by becoming active, effective, responsible, and critical participants in democratic public culture; training in practical, theoretical, and critical approaches to media that account for the history and future of specific communication technologies, as well as the ways they intersect; and basic communication and investigation skills valuable in any future career, including: writing, speaking, primary and secondary research, visual literacy, and critical thinking.
