The CpET program is offered by a partnership arrangement between the departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology and Computer and Information Technology. The technical portion of the program is a combination of revised ECET courses, CIT courses, and new CpET courses. A major emphasis of the CpET program is practice-oriented, hands-on training in laboratories for each CpET course to provide students and graduates with a rich experience in computer applications. Graduates of the new Computer Engineering Technology program will be trained for exciting careers in software design and hardware development for computer systems. Graduates of the CpET program might work in high-tech areas such as automation, telecommunications, embedded microprocessor systems, and product development. The graduates for these jobs are in very high demand. The program educational objectives for the Computer Engineering Technology program are: Demonstrate the ability to analyze, design, apply electronics and software programming to one or more of the following areas: computers, system integration, industrial controls, microprocessors, digital systems, telecommunications, or computer communication and networks.
