Instruction includes fundamentals of electricity and power distribution; basic trade mathematics; national electrical code requirements; commercial, industrial, and residential wiring requirements, and other control theory and fundamentals. This program uses the nationally recognized curriculum developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER); which includes the Contren Electrical Series: Core Curriculum and Levels I-IV published by Pearson Education. Program Objectives 1. To provide an overview of electrical occupations, including the training and the employment options available electrical industry. 2. To assist students in selecting occupations of greatest potential for them. 3. To provide task-based training in the chosen area based on an analysis of the job functions performed by incumbent workers in electrical trades. 4. To train for a series of sequential career entrance roles (exit points) within each area. 5. To allow students the opportunity to train in a variety of settings in electrical trades if time permits. 6. Develop leadership skills necessary for managerial positions in the construction trades.
