Graphic Imaging - J Everett Light Career Center

Graphic Imaging from J Everett Light Career Center is a Campus Certificate Communication Technologies degree that prepares you for a Communications career. The course focuses on graphic communications, preparing students for entry-level positions in this field. Students gain a thorough working knowledge of the printing industry, with an emphasis in offset printing. Screen-printing and relief printing are also studied. Areas of study include electronic imaging , basic offset press, plate making and finishing and bindery. Screenprinting includes single and multicolor skills for printing on fabric and other flat surfaces. Relief printing includes numbering, scoring, perfing, and die cutting. Students experience the production of printed communication from ideation to delivery of the product. In this process, students develop a working vocabulary of the industry and equipment operation skills. Second year students may have an opportunity to do actual work in a job setting. The students may qualify for college credit from Vincennes University.
