The DrPH Program has Schoolwide and departmental components. The Schoolwide component emphasizes the advanced, multidisciplinary knowledge and skills associated with leadership, integration and application of skills, and the practical context for their application. The departmental component emphasizes the specific epidemiologic knowledge and skills. Each component is grounded in specific competencies. Unique aspects of the DrPH Program in Epidemiology: To optimize the participation of practicing professionals, the DrPH program may be developed as a part-time program of study Students enrolled in the part-time DrPH program have the choice of completing a "traditional" doctoral thesis or a manuscript-oriented thesis Part-time DrPH students have up to nine years to complete the coursework and final defense of the DrPH dissertation.
