Human Services Technology from Kent State University at Salem is a Campus Associate Human Science degree that prepares you for a Human Services career. The Associate of Applied Science in Human Services Technology degree is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level positions in a variety of human services agencies, including: child and family welfare agencies, mental health centers, mental retardation and developmental disability centers, senior centers and substance abuse treatment programs. The human services technology degree program includes applied courses in social sciences, human development, family studies, human services delivery systems, and joint university-agency supervised internships. The core courses provide a solid foundation in case management and client advocacy. The Human Services Technology Associate Degree is offered at the Ashtabula and Salem campuses. Students must maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA throughout the curriculum. Successful graduates may be able to apply for Social Work Assistant Registration through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
