Music from King College is a Campus Bachelor Music degree that prepares you for a Vocational Programs career. What does it mean to major in Music? Music majors make important discoveries about themselves through the process of creating and performing. King College's Music program helps students build a solid foundation in music theory and music history as well as providing numerous opportunities for performance and leadership. The Music program also serves as the anchor for our Music Education majors. You can get licensure in either vocal or instrumental Music Education. You can join a variety of ensembles at King, which gives you many opportunities to get your performance "fix." The Symphonic Choir has performed extensively within the U.S. and abroad, perhaps most notably in New York's Carnegie Hall. You can audition for the Collegium Musicum, a small chamber group. The Jazz/Gospel Choir performs both sacred and secular contemporary music , while the Men's Ensemble recently performed at the famous Bristol Motor Speedway, singing the "Star Spangled Banner" for a national television audience (you can view this performance). For instrumentalists, there is the King College Symphonic Band, our newest ensemble. In addition to fall and spring concerts, the band also provides musical support for theater productions and serves as the "Storm Chasers Pep Band" at home basketball games.
