After the initial four-course sequence (Beginning Spanish, Intermediate Spanish , and Advanced Skills I & II), you complete your degree requirements by choosing from a range of literature, civilization and culture classes, or by concentrating on the use of the language in a particular field such as business or health care. What are Spanish majors doing with their degrees? If you major in Spanish , we encourage you to develop your language skills by traveling and studying abroad. The department maintains partnerships with universities and language schools throughout Latin America and Spain. Recent grads in Spanish have studied in Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, and Spain. While knowing Spanish will make you more marketable in any field, some of our recent majors have paired a Spanish major with a major in Business, Education (licensure available for grades 7-12), Nursing, or English.
