Students may choose to prepare to transfer to a university by completing the business core course at Kish or may select a two-year degree that prepares the student to enter the workforce directly after graduation from Kishwaukee. Whichever direction the student selects, their experience at Kishwaukee will include learning from instructors who not only know the textbook theory, but have put that theory into practice in the real world. Our instructors all have experience in their felds, giving student an unique opportunity to learn the reality of the business world. Business students at Kishwaukee College also can take advantage of many internship opportunities with local employers to gain their own real world experience, putting classroom knowledge in action. Since over a quarter of the work force is involved in some form of marketing or management, many career opportunities are available for students. Sales and Retailing, and Supervision/Management are two areas of emphasis which may be chosen. A general degree based on specifc needs is also possible. Close cooperation between the college and business helps insure necessary training is provided to compete in a dynamic business environment. Requires 62 semester hours.
