The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program at La Roche College provides a pathway for students who want to become registered nurses . PURPOSE The purpose and philosophy of the ASN program are consistent with the mission of the college and philosophy and goals of the nursing division. Nursing is a profession in evolution concerned with the health care of persons and their families within the larger context of community and society. Currently, nursing care needs are addressed by nurses at a variety of levels of educational preparation. The purpose of this ASN program is to prepare graduates to sit for the NLCEX-RN and to perform as entry level nurse generalists in a variety of settings. Graduates are prodided the knowledge base for continued professional growth. Retention of Nursing Students In order to continue in the Nursing program, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.A grade of "C" or better is required in all nursing courses (at least 73%).
