Exhibit a commitment to the values and ethics of the social work profession as articulated in the NASW Code of Ethics; 6. Utilize scientific methods to conduct research, critique practice literature, inform one's own practice, and evaluate one's own practice; 7. Function within the organizational structure while seeking organizational change consistent with the values of the social work profession; 8. Demonstrate use of generalist social work knowledge and skills with diverse populations, with emphasis on people of color, women, children, older adults, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) persons; 9. Demonstrate use of generalist social work knowledge and skills with vulnerable populations, particularly people of color, residents of lower socioeconomic status, women, children, older adults, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) persons, and people living with HIV/AIDS; 10. Analyze the impact of historical and contemporary social welfare policies on diverse populations and vulnerable populations within the local, national, and international communities; 11. Utilize critical thinking skills in the context of social work practice; 12. Utilize advocacy skills to promote social and economic justice; 13.
