Program Goals All Commercial Construction/Management students will demonstrate proficiency on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) and earn National Skill Certificates; ie. National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) and Pennsylvania Skill Certificates . All Commercial Construction/Management students will successfully transition on to a 1st career job and/or related post secondary training. All Commercial Construction/Management students will be proficient in their career major and demonstrate proficiency through hands-on performance and theoretical testing. Program Description The Commercial Construction/Management program offers students the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge for entry-level employment in the commercial/industrial construction field. The skills are acquired through a unique blend of theory, lab, and job site experiences. The program is certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and is recognized by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). It includes instruction in and hands-on application of power tool operation, blueprint reading, site preparation, concrete application, basic framing procedures, building design, industrial finishers, exterior finishers, estimating and purchasing procedures. Additionally, the curriculum offers ten hours on Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) training, as well as Power Activation certification and JCB Backhoe certification.
