Goals and Objectives The goals and objectives of the department are to produce quality, technologically advanced elementary teachers with effective classroom management skills, a diversity of instructional strategies, knowledge of general and specific pedagogy, knowledge of the characteristics of the regular learner and children with special needs, acceptance of cultural and ethnic differences, and general and specific knowledge. The department will instill in its candidates the dispositions needed to be morally, ethically, and productive citizens. Description of the Program: The Elementary Education program at Langston University is a stringent four- to five-year professional preparation culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Education degree , which allows one to teach first through eighth grades upon successfully passing the state's licensure tests.
