The Registered Nurse (RN) Program prepares the individual to care for clients of all ages in a variety of health care settings. As an essential member of the health care team, the RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of care for clients. The RN is required to assist clients in achieving their health goals through effective communication, decision making, problem-solving, management and technological skills. Registered nurses work in hospitals, clinics, offices, nursing homes, and home health care settings, in addition to schools, research facilities, and community agencies. The education and scope of practice of the RN is determined by state law.
