Creative Writing from Le Moyne College is a Campus Bachelor Writing degree that prepares you for a Liberal Arts career. Many students write poems, stories, plays, and scripts, but not all share their love of writing with others or have the opportunity to develop their talents. This program helps students explore language through writing workshops that emphasize experimentation and craft in small-group workshop settings and through individualized work with a creative writing faculty member. Students complete the creative writing curriculum by moving through a sequence of five required courses. Four courses must be writing workshops; one must be in nineteenth or twentieth-century literature. Current courses include: Creative Writing Workshop, Script Writing , Advanced Fiction Workshop, Advanced Poetry Workshop, Introduction to Playwriting, Writing the One Act Play, Nonfiction Writing Workshop, various Special Topics courses, and the Independent Study. Qualified concentrators and minors may also undertake an Honors Degree in Creative Writing.
