The Building Trades/Cabinet making program is designed for students interested in work in the field of building trades. Building Trades and Carpentry make up one of the largest skill crafts in the building industry. Specialized workers have developed many customized skills in related fields. Cabinetmaker - These craftsmen are responsible for the fine detail put into the woodwork, d??cor, and cabinetry in commercial and residential structures. Cabinetmakers enjoy working with their hands - cutting, shaping and assembling wood products such as moldings, panels, and furniture. Students receive training in rough framing, finishing, drywall application, cabinet making, finish trim, concrete finishing, painting, ceramic tile, plumbing and electrical wiring. Instruction is made more realistic through the actual construction of a residential home. Varied hands-on experiences will be gained from rough framing to cabinet making and finishing. This program is a 2-year program offering up to four credits per year for juniors and seniors. Adult students attend 6 hours per day for one school year.
