Within the liberal arts tradition, students develop a foundation of knowledge and skills in studio art and art history. Program Distinctions Art Club The Art Club, which is open to all students, includes periodic trips to regional galleries and museums. Past events have also included studio workshops, attendance at national art conventions, and a tour of the Tuscany region in Italy for art faculty and students. Trips to view collections have ranged from the J.B. Speed museum in Louisville, Ky.; The Frist Art Musuem, Cheekwood, and the Parthenon in Nashville, Tenn.; the Hunter Museum in Chattanooga, Tenn.; The Chicago Art Institute; the Hite Museum in Atlanta; and visits to Lexington, Ky., Memphis, Tenn., Cincinnati, and Washington D.C. The Lucretia C. Begley Gallery Located in the W.W. Slider Humanities Center, the Begley Gallery features work of regional and national artists. The Senior Art Show 2gallery provides an exciting schedule of exhibits during the academic year. Student work, including an annual "Art Majors Seminar," is exhibited as well. Why choose Art?
