Conversational foreign language classes are offered through community education centers in Albany, Corvallis and Lebanon. They include: beginning conversation classes in Arabic, Chinese, German, Japanese, Latin, and Russian; beginning, intermediate, and advanced conversation classes in French and Spanish; and beginning and intermediate classes in American Sign Language. Student Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete the Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Foreign Language will: Show empathy and understanding to people from different cultural backgrounds. Use critical thinking to understand and appreciate other perspectives. Demonstrate basic understanding of the history and culture of Spain, Latin America and Hispanics in the United States.
