Career Opportunities Certified athletic trainers are medical professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes and others who are engaged in everyday physical activities. Athletic trainers work in a variety of employment settings such as collegiate and professional sports, secondary and intermediate schools, sports medicine clinics, hospital emergency rooms, and rehabilitation clinics, occupational/industrial settings, fitness centers and physician offices.
