Students majoring in history must complete 33 semester hours, including History 1001 or 1005, 1003 or 1007, 2055, 2057, and at least 15 semester hours in history courses 3000 or above. No more than 12 of the 15 may be taken in any one of the following general subject areas: U.S. History, European History , and non-Western Developing Nations History (Latin America, East Asia, South Asia, Africa, and the Middle East). The remaining six hours of history courses must be taken at the 2000-level or above. Students majoring in history must also complete six semester hours of approved literature courses unless they are following the concentration in Secondary Education.
