Mission The Graphic Design major at Mansfield University is a comprehensive graphic design program within a small, personal, university setting that provides a tremendous amount of individual attention from professors and advisors. The major has two distinct tracks: print graphics and motion graphics. The program is housed within the Art Department, with ties to the Communications Deparment, where several of the required motion graphics courses for the major are located. Mansfield offers programs in art, communications, journalism, and business, all of which are very relevant to the field of graphic design . The Graphic Design major is the voice that speaks to and through these distinct disciplines for each and every project that is designed. It is the goal of this program, to have our design students leave Mansfield University not merely as trained desktop publishers, but with an approach to thinking, communicating, and creating that allows them to be problem solvers and catalysts for successful visual communication within our society.
