Design and build stage sets, create costumes and bring characters to life through movement, voice and music. Hone your ability to build connections with the audience?and, through Marquette's broad liberal arts curriculum, learn to connect the performing arts to other disciplines. Raise the curtain. Develop your craft starting in your first year through five main-stage productions, as well as dance concerts and studio productions. Performances range from the classics to contemporary pieces, including musicals, comedies, dramas and experimental theatre. At least one play per season centers on social justice. Master the details. Choose from a wide selection of courses in the creative and technical aspects of stage and screen, including acting, directing for stage and camera, theatre history, scenery, lighting, dance and costume design. Make professional connections. Work on our main stage with professional actors, directors and designers. Acting and performance classes average 12 to 14 students; technical design and management classes average 10. You can also collaborate or intern with companies from Milwaukee's theatre district, just blocks away.
