Upon completion of the course, the student will have acquired the technical abilities and academic theories that enables them to meet the requirements of the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology for licensure, get an entry level job, perform cosmetology services offered in a full service salon, and be able to earn a living. Other opportunities: salon owner, sales, marketing, platform work, instructor, and manicurist and stylist specialties. The units of study and the completion requirements exceed those required by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology. Course Objectives: Upon the completion of the 1,500-hour course, the student will have acquired the technical abilities and academic theories in compliance with requirements of the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology and will have: 1. The ability to perform the cosmetology services offered in a full service salon; 2. The ability to use professional products correctly and in a safe manner; 3. The ability to analyze and test the quality and condition of the hair, skin, and nails for the safety and correct selection of the product or service; 4. The fundamental knowledge to manage a cosmetology salon after a reasonable amount of experience as an observant employee; and 5. The privilege of entering an industry that has no limits to the opportunities available to those who have the ambition and desire to achieve.
