Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities from Merrimack College is a Campus Master Special Education degree that prepares you for a Education career. Master as a Teacher of Students With Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) Option I This M.Ed. program of study is for candidates who have a Bachelor Degree , and are interested in becoming a teacher. The candidates in this program are being prepared for the Initial Teaching License as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8). Option II This M.Ed. program of study is for teachers who currently hold the Initial Teaching License as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) and would like to undertake an advanced program of study. Upon completion of the program, a mentored experience in an employment setting will be required in order to secure the Professional Teaching License. This mentored experience will be supervised by the school district. Option III This M.Ed. program of study is for candidates who have a Bachelor Degree and are interested in becoming a teacher. The candidates in this program are being prepared for the Initial Teaching License in Elementary Education (1-6) and with additional course work are eligible for the Initial Teaching License as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-6). OPTION IV This M.Ed. program of study is for teachers who currently hold the Initial Teaching License in Elementary Education and would like to pursue a second license as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8). The first part of the program will prepare the candidate for the Initial Teaching License, whereas the second part of this program will be an advanced program of study. Upon completion of the program, a mentored experience in an employment setting will be required in order to secure the Professional Teaching License.
