The end result will contain the elements required for planning, writing, producing and editing advanced television programs. This course is designed to develop communication and video production abilities, as well as shot composition, aesthetic consideration, and shooting for editing. Assignments from this course will be prepared as though they will be aired on a monthly show. Students at this level will develop a higher level of video production skills. Activities will include exploration in advanced editing projects and individuals will pursue an area of interest in video production under the direction of the instructor. Students in this course will be given the opportunity to maintain professional broadcast quality while coordinating, directing and videotaping important district events such as school concerts, school plays and spring musicals. This is an introductory course to the video production process with emphasis on studio and remote programming. Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of script writing and on-camera communication skills and production techniques. The student will also gain practical experience in camera, audio, lighting and graphic design, and will learn how to operate all crew positions in a variety of studio lab and field projects.
