These courses are supplemented by a broad selection of general courses in communication, languages, math and history, ensuring that every one of our teacher education graduates can demonstrate comprehensive knowledge in the classroom. MidAmerica's Teacher Education Program meets requirements established by the state of Kansas and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Why MNU? The Teacher Education Resource Center on the second floor of MNU's Mabee Library puts resources and reference materials at your fingertips. The center houses textbooks, trade books, curriculum guides, instructional materials and more, for use by students and faculty. The English program at MNU integrates faith and academics, helping students explore their own values as they encounter great works of literature. All majors take a course in Faith and Literature. Seamlessly connecting literature, communication, culture and Christianity is a foundational part of the curriculum. If you're called to teach in a Christian school, you'll be empowered to share these themes and ideas with your students, too. As an English Language Arts student, one of your top priorities is developing strong writing skills. MNU's campus publications offer you plenty of opportunities.
