In addition to the theatre major through the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, MidAmerica Nazarene University also offers a speech-theatre education degree through the Humanities Department. Open auditions are held for upcoming productions from the student body for main stage and one-act plays. No need to be a major in order to participate. MNU has produced over 45 shows during the past 20 years, including: Man of La Mancha To Kill A Mockingbird As You Like It God's Favorite Steel Magnolias The Nerd The Foreigner Cotton Patch Gospel Godspell Dear Emma (Midwest Premiere) Fiddler on the Roof Arsenic and Old Lace Music Man Student actors and technicians learn and perform in the Bell Cultural Events Center. Facilities include a main stage performance hall, black box theatre , scene building shop, large makeup and costume rooms, green room and set storage.
