This program is certified by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF). Do students who major in Automotive Technology earn additional certification? Students are eligible for the Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) Certificate from the Ford Motor Company, after successful completion of the first year of automotive courses. Are there any requirements students must satisfy before taking courses in their major? Algebra I is a prerequisite for all majors. Algebra I competency must be verified with a passing score on the College\\\'s placement test. As a result of the student's performance on the College\\\'s placement test, he or she may need developmental coursework. All developmental coursework must be completed before the student will be considered for admission to the program. How long will it take to complete this degree? Automotive Technology is an intensive full-time program. It includes 60 weeks spent in college classes and 30 weeks spent acquiring workplace experience.
