Practical Nursing from Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical - Winona MN is a Campus Certificate Nursing Practice degree that prepares you for a Nursing career. The Practical Nursing Program provides educational experiences for students within a classroom and clinical setting. Students will be given the opportunity to perform skilled technical procedures in a variety of health care settings. The comprehensive curriculum requires students to demonstrate competence in the categories of nursing practice as required by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing . Clinical rotations include medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, geriatric and mental health experiences at various health care facilities. All students enter the Practical Nursing Program as Registered Nursing Assistants and have the opportunity to be employed as they progress through the program. Students eligible for graduation may make application to the Associate in Science-Nursing Mobility Program. Classes are available on both the Winona and Red Wing Campuses. Graduates from the programs are eligible to apply to take the State Board of Nursing licensure examination. Graduates have been extremely successful and career opportunities are widespread. Program Learning Outcomes Program graduates will be able to: 1. Demonstrate professionalism consistent with the delivery of safe, culturally sensitive, and ethical care. 2. Demonstrate therapeutic communication with individuals and groups. 3. Perform comprehensive data collection. 4. Draws preliminary conclusions and knows when, to whom, and where to report findings. 5. Performs nursing interventions according to the care plan that assists diverse individuals and groups with the Adaptation Process. 6. Provide for patient need to know by giving, translating or transmitting information according to the plan of care. 7. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary collaborative team. 8.
