Program Description and Student learning outcomes The Accounting Program offers a large selection of courses including first-year college accounting as well as more advanced and specialized courses. Courses in the program provide skills which lead to a number of goals, including AS degree or certificate in Accounting , transfer to a four-year Accounting program, career advancement for those already employed, self-employment as a bookkeeper or tax preparer, and completion of many courses needed to take the CPA exam. Upon completion of courses in the Accounting Program, students will be able to Accurately perform transaction analysis using accounting forms and documents, Process accounting information and analyze its effect on the financial statements, Prepare financial reports following generally accepted accounting principles and ethical standards of the profession, Analyze financial reports and communicate the results to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, Explain general business processes including computerized accounting systems.
