The Certificate in Print Journalism trains students in the writing style that is the professional standard, covering the news, preparing publications, principles of typography and in newspaper and magazine layout, preparing them for entry level jobs in the news media. Working on the Modesto Junior College newspaper, a core class in both the AA degree and certificate sequences, is a hands-on practicum in newspaper publishing in which the reality of producing fair, accurate and ethical journalism on deadline is simulated.
