The MA in Theatre Studies is an ideal program for students who want to reinvigorate their previous theater experience, explore their passion for theater for the first time or prepare for doctoral studies at a later date. The program offers a broad range of courses including theater history and dramatic literature; opportunities for academic and hands-on training; and inclusion of current pedagogical transformations in educational theater (e.g. feminist criticism and dramaturgy.) Jointly they employ progressive teaching methodologies to foster a rich learning community. Small classes, group projects, independent study and current theoretical content strengthen both research and performance. Students appreciate the choice of day, night, weekend and online classes, access to internships in the New York/New Jersey area, as well as the expeditious timeframe in which the degree (only 33 credits) can be completed.
