Program Description The Associate of Art degree in Humanities is an interdisciplinary program that integrates several different academic traditions. The Humanities Program at MSJC offers students a rare opportunity to discover the heritage of art, culture, and learning through lectures and readings of great texts; make connections between ideas in the past and issues in the present; and improve skills in critical reading, listening, writing, and discussion. The Humanities group major incorporates specific coursework along with satisfactory completion of at least 60 degree-applicable semester units. A grade point average of 2.0 or higher on a four-point scale. Satisfactory completion of at least 24 units of General Education Requirements Option A and satisfactory completion of at least 12 units at MSJC for residency is required.
