Many of the courses in this program emphasize the techniques required to formulate physical, biological, and industrial phenomena as mathematical models and to solve the resulting mathematical problems by using computational and analytical techniques. Senior \\\"capstone\\\" courses provide an opportunity for students to synthesize the knowledge gained during their undergraduate experience by combining mathematical modeling with physical and computational experiments conducted in the Undergraduate Mathematics Computing Laboratory.
