Today, holistic health care is an extension of ancient Oriental Medicine - based on natural and minimally-invasive healing arts that focus on balance and movement of energy within the body. When it comes to health care, Americans want choices. More often they are requesting some form of holistic medicine to complement their Western treatments and medications. But the criteria for deciding upon a practitioner remain the same as for conventional medicine - the quality of the technical skills to diagnose and treat. Students of the Graduate School of Oriental Medicine learn and practice those skills at New York College, in programs that are among the most in-depth in the nation. Our students are well prepared for the national certification exams which are recognized by New York State for licensure, and they will have a wide range of career options in both private and public health care.
